CyberGhost for Torrenting

“Torrenting”, using a bitTorrent, uTorrent, or any P2P technology is not illegal.

With CyberGhost, you just can’t use these on their free servers.

So CyberGhost for Torrenting works, but you need to be on a premium server. It’s definitely worth it.

If you need to use a Peer to Peer (P2P) client with CyberGhost, you’ll need to log in from a server outside of these countries:

  • United States
  • Russia
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • China – Hongkong

This VPN provider does not keep any logs, and therefore nothing is tracked or kept on file.

At the same time, as with any VPN service, they state that downloading copyrighted content is against their terms of service. So that’s how they protect themselves.

They don’t track what you do, however if you get caught, they’re protect through their terms of service.

Bottom line, you can use their premium servers for P2P computing, as these programs are not illegal.

If you use P2P computing for downloading copyrighted material, you can do it anonymously with CyberGhost (which you should!), but at the end of the day, CyberGhost can’t protect you if you get caught.

I’m not promoting this behaviour, but let’s face it, it happens all day long. So do it safely, but remember that it’s still illegal, and it’s against CyberGhost’s terms of service.

If I were to use these clients for sharing copyrighted files, I would definitely do it with a VPN like this one.

You can find information on their premium servers here.
